CALAMVALE LEOPARDS      CLUB SONG

Since I've been a leopard, we've played the oval ball.

From Burleigh to Bribie, I guess we've played them all.

When they play the Leopards, the other team will fall.

The Leopards play the best football.

On the ground or in the air, we will beat you fair and square.

In defence or in attack our spirit will never lack.

We're the mighty Leopards,

You should see us score,

We're the mighty Leopards,

And hear our might ROAR!

2021 PRESIDENT'S REPORT

Despite the COVID challenges what a great season of footy. We scraped in the junior games, and although youth missed the last 2 games, we had 4 teams make finals and 2 of those making the grand final. Whilst we didn’t come away with the premierships, it is an awesome effort to play finals as many teams don’t get the opportunity.

This year is especially important as we celebrate 20 years of the Calamvale Leopards and holding a whole club presentation night is extremely exciting. While I am sure that everyone loves the new mural on the clubhouse, for past players, they will notice the guernsey colours represent our history as a club and past designs. The mural along with the club paint renovation has been showcased at the Brisbane Lions games on the big screen and across Australia as Taubman’s tv commercial. Thank you to everyone involved in the renovation of the club and I hope each time you drive past you proudly know that you are a special part of the club.

With our player numbers climbing over 180 along with 20 superstar players and 62 Auskickers, the 2021 season has been a successful year. The changes in our canteen allowed a reduced burden on volunteers and allowed more parents to watch kids playing footy. A huge thankyou to all this year’s volunteers, especially those that keep turning up and happy to do it. As a not-for-profit volunteer run club, it’s those that stand up and help ensure that we meet our goal of kids playing footy, playing as a team, and enjoying being a Leopard, something they will remember for a long time. Thank you to all our volunteers.

I encourage everyone to attend this year’s AGM. Many people think by going you get sucked into a job. No one is made do anything they don't want to do, however you do get to hear what has happened this year, where the club is going next year and the ability to have input to shape the direction of the club. The more input we have allows the club an opportunity to grow in a positive direction. Let’s not complicate it, it’s about kids playing footy and parents happy for them to be doing it.

I know its early to be thinking about next season, however, if we have allour players return next season we will have amazing numbers for the teams, so please enjoy the off season, have a safe and happy festive season and I look forward to seeing you all again in 2022.

Stay safe!
